Muzzy Lane: Is an interactive tool in which you are able to become part of history. In this site you are able to become a character and experience what that person’s life was in the 1900’s. In the site you are also able to play Make History, a fun and interactive game in which you are able create events leading to WWII. Here you are able to alter history by making different decisions that will have different outcomes on world history. Muzzy Lane gives you the opportunity to travel to the past and form your own perspective of what life would have been like.
Icivics: In this interactive tool you are able to play games on your own or with other students. The games are based on historical events and you are able to make decisions on these events. As you are playing you are earning points within the game. This site is a fun source to learn more about our government. Even though this is not a strictly U.S history class a lot of the events we study have had a direct impact on how our government works. You can search for games that relate to the topic we are studying in class and it will be a good method to learn more while having fun.
Digital History: Is another informative and interactive tool in which you are able to navigate to specific time periods you wish to learn more about. Each time period comes with quizzes to help you test your knowledge of the subject and time period. In this site you are also able to hear audio of primary sources. Here you will find links to different articles that will pertain to events that we will be studying in class. You will also be able to view copies of articles to give you a broader understanding of the subject. This site will be very informative and simple for the students to navigate.
PBS Freedom History: Is another interactive tool in which you are able to play games, quiz yourself and read articles. The quiz yourself function is a useful tool to help you test your knowledge and prepare for a test. The site is easy to navigate and intuitive for students to use. One interesting feature within the site is a time line that you can click on and it will take you to the era you wish to know more about. This tool is informative and it a great source to learn not only about subjects we are studying but also other events in history. Throughout this site you are also able to locate museums to get involved with.
